Chris Coxon
Chris has been working in the entertainment industry for more than 15 years, primarily as an actor, but also as a dancer/choreographer, musician, radio presenter, writer, voice artist, and sound designer. His varied career has encompassed West End musicals, plays, films, television, commercials, audiobooks, animations, video games, and pantomimes.
He trained at the Performance Academy, Newcastle College under the direction of Katherine Quist and then went on to train at The Arts Educational Schools, London graduating in 2008 with a BA (Hons) in Musical Theatre. Whilst at Arts Ed, along with many in-house productions, he sang with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in Good Thing Going - Simply Sondheim (Cadogan Hall) and appeared in a workshop production of the new musical, Sherlock Holmes: The Early Years in which Chris played Sherlock Holmes.
Upon graduating from Arts Ed. Chris made his West End debut in Monty Python's Spamalot (Palace Theatre). Other theatre roles include Wolf/Dad in Wolf! Feature films that Chris has appeared in include The Little Stranger (Film4) and Sherlock Holmes (The Asylum). Other on-screen appearances include, for TV, The Real Story of Hacksaw Ridge (World Media Rights/ITV Studios), Things Not To Say To People With Tourette’ s Syndrome (BBC Three), and Let’s Do Philosophy (EBS), short films, The Time Machine, The Microbial Verdict, The Greatest of Men, Blood Stained Memories, Mudlines, as well as music videos for Parade and Davido, and a television commercial for GoCompare.com. He also appeared in the Emmy-nominated #WeThe15 campaign video, which was shown at the Tokyo 2020 Summer Paralympic Games.
The festive season often sees Chris playing panto comic, with roles including French Franc in Beauty and the Beast (Spillers Pantomimes - Alexandra Theatre, Bognor Regis), Wishee Washee in Aladdin (Theatre Royal, Bury St Edmunds), Wishee Washee in Rock & Roll Aladdin (Penny Rock Theatre - Shaw Theatre, London), and Peter Pan (UK Productions - The Anvil, Basingstoke).
Chris is an accomplished musician, playing guitar, bass guitar, mandolin, ukulele, amongst other instruments. As well as playing music as an actor-musician in several theatre shows, such as Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, Dreamboats and Petticoats, Buddy, Save the Last Dance for Me, to name a few, he has worked as a musician on Spring Awakening (Bernie Grants Arts Centre - Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts), A Slice of Saturday Night (Upstairs At The Gatehouse), and projects for Peachy Beat, Club 11 London, and Giggin4Good. He has also released a number of his own songs, which are available on digital download.
Chris is a versatile and experienced voiceover artist. Possessing a naturally youthful voice, he specialises in voicing teens, children and animated characters, although he has worked across all sectors of the industry including projects in audiobooks, animation, commercials, video games, and more, for clients such as Harper Collins, Lloyds Bank, Fanta, WF Howes, and World Vision.
